I-Drive driving school

We offer you a professional approach to obtaining a driving license for group B (motor vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and 9 seats including the driver's seat), a pleasant atmosphere and maximum flexibility in your time schedule.

We understand that you are studying, for example, and we are happy to tailor your lessons to suit you.

We teach in Czech and English. Practical training is also partly in Ukrainian.

You will learn everything you need to be able to drive in traffic from both practice and theory.

The training takes place on VW Golf Plus 1,9 TDI vehicles.

When can I start training at the driving school?

Group B tuition and training can be started no earlier than 18 months before adulthood, but training can be completed no earlier than the day you reach the age of 18. However, it is ideal to start driving lessons 2-3 months before the age of 18.

Alternatively, it is possible to start the lessons and training earlier and pass the test after the age of 17 under the conditions of driving under the supervision of a mentor.

How to apply?

To apply for driving school you must fill in the "Application for Admission to Teaching and Training" (application form) and the "Medical Certificate" which can be obtained in person at the driving school or by downloading it here (https://www.prihlaska-do-autoskoly.cz/). The filled-in application form and the doctor's report must be delivered in person to the driving school. This means that the pupil is enrolled in the driving school.

The medical certificate may only be issued by a general practitioner or a general practitioner for children and adolescents, or a so-called occupational physician, and must not be older than 3 months on the date of admission to the driving school. For this reason, the report must contain a legible date of the examination and the conclusion of the examination must be unambiguous in the wording 'fit' or 'fit with condition' which must be specified e.g. glasses, contact lenses or glasses and contact lenses. An ambiguous assessment is considered to be a conclusion e.g. "fit as an amateur driver" or in the wording "fit with condition according to 01.01 or 01.02..." which are harmonized codes according to Decree No 31/2001 Coll.

How are rides planned?

Rides are scheduled by mutual agreement usually 1-2 weeks in advance. A scheduled ride can be cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled start of the ride. If a ride is cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, the student will be charged a cancellation fee according to the current price list to compensate for the teacher's downtime. However, the cancelled ride must be taken on an alternate date. The cancellation fee will not be charged in case of illness of the pupil or other compelling reasons, if the pupil duly documents this.

One session consists of 2 lessons, i.e. 2x 45 minutes. According to the law, only 2 lessons can be completed in one day, except during the final phase of the training, when two sessions can be combined exceptionally, e.g. to speed up the end of the training.

The number of rides per week depends on the type of course chosen (basic, standard, fast).

What is the maximal duration of the training?

There is no time limit for the training period. The student must complete the instruction and training within the prescribed range. If, however, after completing the minimum prescribed number of hours, the pupil does not feel eligible for the final test, they may continue training by means of conditioning rides until they feel adequately prepared. This time is not limited.

How is the final exam conducted?

Upon completion of the training, the driving school will register the student for the final test at the relevant municipal office, which will assign test dates separately for the written test, which is conducted on a computer, and then a second date for the practical driving test.

The theory test is conducted on a computer and consists of a total of 25 questions which the student has 30 minutes to answer. To pass the test, 43 points out of 50 must be achieved.

The practical driving test, attended by the examiner and the driving instructor, lasts at least 30 minutes and the examiner assesses the result as pass or fail.

The final test is conducted in the Czech language in the presence of an accredited and approved interpreter.

Which course is the most suitable?

The length of the course is important and generally depends on the number and intensity of repetitions. Express courses are suitable for pupils who already have some driving skills, e.g. motorcycles, or for candidates who have the prospect of driving immediately after driving school. Longer courses with a driving frequency of once a week are more suitable for pupils who are in no hurry and have no prospect of driving after driving school. A course with a driving intensity of 2 times a week can be recommended as optimal, where the pupil does not forget the skills acquired since the last lesson and at the same time there is the time needed to experience and store the experience.

Is it possible to repay the course?

Yes, the price for driving school training can be spread over several instalments by agreement.

The rides usually start and end in Prague 4 directly at the Pražského povstání metro station.
